What better way to fully exhaust the encounter adventure of mountain gorillas than embarking on a 5 days Uganda and Rwanda double gorilla trekking. Experience these two incredible gorilla destinations all in one safari to get the best in every gorilla encounter.
Off the primate adventures, you will also embrace the culture of the forest keepers, the Batwa and the Rwandan people as they showcase their heritage at Iby’iwacu cultural village. While on this epic safari adventure, you will also explore Uganda’s deepest treasure, Lake Bunyonyi in Kabale district. Brace yourself as we take you through the details of your itinerary unveiled below.
Day by Day itinerary
Day 1: Arrival and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
After successfully landing in Entebbe International Airport, you will be greeted by our professional guide ranger. He will bring you up to date on what you should expect on this 5 days Uganda and Rwanda double gorilla trekking. After this insight, you will hit the road to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, a formidable gorilla destination in the southern region of Uganda.
Have a brief stopover at the equator for lunch and a photo moment. As evening crows through, you will be arriving at your booked lodge in the park for dinner and rest.

Day 2: Gorilla trekking and Batwa cultural encounter
The second day of your trip will begin with a delicious breakfast. Our guide driver never disappoints with time as he will be there to transfer you to the park offices just in time for the pre-trekking briefing. This briefing is meant to prepare you for the gorilla trekking adventure experience by reciting the rules and regulations. A caution about the expected code of conduct will also come forward. The park guide rangers will then group you with other visitors in groups of 8 people and assign you a gorilla family to trek. Each group will also be allocated a guide ranger, who will lead you on this incredible experience. About 4-5 hours deep into the forest canopies and dense vegetation of Bwindi, you will stumble upon the endangered mountain gorillas.
You will be given an hour in their presence as you take pictures and watch the primates as they play, rest, and groom their young. As your hour concludes, you will head back to the offices where our guide driver will transfer you back to the lodge for lunch. Next on the agenda will be a Batwa cultural encounter immediately after your lunch. You will journey through their communities as you witness their lifestyle and get fed on their cultural history.
Also learn their survival skills that helped them during their time in the forests of Bwindi. Enjoy the moment as they entertain you with their traditional dances and songs. In the evening you will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi and boat cruise experience
At daybreak, you will be served a delicious breakfast and be transferred to Lake Bunyonyi after checking out of your lodge. Embrace the sights of the landscape while on the road to Lake Bunyonyi. The lake is a short distance from the park, and by noon you will be checking into your lodge at Lake Bunyonyi for lunch.
In the afternoon, you will have a boat cruise experience on the lake where you will explore in detail the treasures of this lake. Cruise through the 29 islands on this lake and learn their history and culture that surrounds these lakes. Witness the chilling moment as the sun sets on the tranquil waters of Lake Bunyonyi as the birds circle the atmosphere attesting to its name as the lake of many birds. Head back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park and Iby’iwacu cultural village
In the morning you will wake up to a sweet aroma of breakfast and sweet melodies of the birds. After your sunrise breakfast on the lake, you will journey across the border of Gatuna to Volcanoes National Park.
By midday you will be in the park at your booked lodge in time for lunch. In the afternoon, you will head to Iby’iwacu cultural village, a few kilometers from the park. While at Iby’iwacu cultural village, you will witness firsthand the cultural practices of the Rwandan people and herding of the Inyambo cattle. Learn their cultures, such as their beliefs, norms, and values. Expect to be entertained by their traditional dances and songs. Return to your lodge as evening kicks in for dinner and rest.

Day 5: Gorilla trekking and departure to Kigali city
The silence of nature and the music of the bird songs peacefully wake you up for your last day adventure. A hot, delicious breakfast will be served after a warm shower, and then head to the briefing center at the park offices. The officers will take you through what is required of you while trekking the gorillas in their natural habitats, which includes the rules and regulations. As with any other gorilla trek, you will be grouped into groups of 8 and a gorilla family will be allocated to you for trekking.
A lead park ranger will then spearhead your journey into the dense canopies of the park. Through the tough, steep terrain, and dense vegetation, you will encounter your precious prize of the mountain gorillas about 5 hours into the forest. An hour will be allocated to you to exhaust your presence with the primates where you will take pictures, watch them as they play, rest, and groom their young. After your hour, you will return to your lodge for lunch. Our driver guide in the afternoon will transfer you to Kigali International Airport for your departure flight.
