Gorilla trekking is one of the ultimate safari experiences in Africa and being able to do this in one day in volcanoes national park is ideal for those with limited tome available.
The park has 10 habituated gorilla families and visitors can trek and spend an hour with gorillas.
This tour can be done for visitors who are already staying in Kigali or in musanze Northern Province.
Day by Day itinerary
Day 1: Rwanda gorilla tour
The time to start is 04:30 a.m. after breakfast. Your guide will pick you up at the hotel in Kigali and transfer to volcanoes national park arriving at kinigi the visitor center. Meet your guide to take you through the basics on what to expect from the gorilla trek. Then enter into the forest searching for gorillas. This can take 30 minutes to find gorillas if you’re lucky or over 5 hours. It all depends on the movement of the gorillas. Once they are located, visitors can spend 1 hour observing and taking photos of gorillas in their natural habitat. Then you return back and settle for lunch at the selected lodge. Transfer back to Kigali.
