Your 5 days Kidepo National Park safari is a rewarding experience where you encounter a variety of wildlife and diverse cultures in the far northeastern part of the Pearl of Africa, Uganda. The park is home to large herds of buffalos, untouched beautiful scenery, and unique Karamajong culture. You will enjoy exclusive game drives in the Narus Valley where you will spot the big 4 animals, lions, leopards, buffaloes, and elephants, and also others like hyenas, cheetahs, bat-eared foxes, and black-backed jackals among others.

Encounter numerous bird species like Ostriches, pygmy falcon, Karamoja apalis, Verreaux’s eagle, Egyptian vulture, Broad-tailed warbler, Silverbird, Yellow-billed Shrike, Marsh Tchagra, Crimson-rumped Waxbill, and Jackson’s hornbill among others. Without much further ado let’s head to the details of the itinerary.

Day by Day itinerary

Day 1: Arrival and transfer to Kitgum

Upon arrival, our driver guide will brief you about the trip and transfer you to Kitgum. While on your way, you will make a stopover at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for trekking the rare white rhinos in Uganda. Trekking rewards you a chance to spot one of the big five animals in Africa and lunch will be en route. You will enjoy endless sceneries and roadside markets for fresh fruits and fish. In the evening you will arrive in Kitgum, and check in your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Transfer to Kidepo Valley National Park

After your breakfast, you will be transferred to Kidepo Valley National Park home to large herds of buffalos, elephants, lions, leopards, and cheetahs to mention but a few. You will pass through the Karamajong homesteads and towns to enjoy the beautiful scenes and lunch will be en route. Upon arrival in the park, you will check in your lodge, have dinner, and rest.

Day 3: Game drive and guided nature walk

You will have a delicious breakfast and our driver guide will take you on a morning game drive. On this morning game drive, you get a chance to spot animals like buffalos, elephants, giraffes, zebras, jackals, cheetahs, dik dik, oribi, Jackson heartbeests, and many more. In the afternoon after your lunch you will take on a guided nature walk in the park.

Have a great time exploring the beauty of this park with its untouched scenery covered with savannah grassland on foot. You will encounter several bird species including Silverbird, Yellow-billed Shrike, Marsh Tchagra, Crimson-rumped Waxbill, and Jackson’s hornbill to mention but a few. You will be driven back to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Community tour and visit Kanangorok Hot Springs

After your delicious breakfast, you will head to the Karamajong communities for a community tour. Here you will learn about this unique culture which is related to the Masai of Kenya and enjoy entertainment from their traditional music, dances, attire, and more. You will then have lunch and head out to visit Kanangorok Hot Springs located in the park. Kanangorok hot spring is used domestically as a source of boiled water for purposes of cooking and drinking.

It is also used as a healing pond by the locals as it is believed it cure skin diseases and more. Our driver guide will then drive you back to your lodge for dinner and rest.

Day 5: Departure

You will be served breakfast early in the morning and after you check out of the lodge. Our driver guide will then take you on the long journey to the airport. You will enjoy the last views of the countryside while on your journey and lunch will be en route. You will arrive at Entebbe International Airport just in time for your flight back home in the evening.
